Formerly Westervelt College, this 40,000 square foot, three-storey building with a full basement was transformed through a comprehensive renovation into a refreshed campus environment supporting four graduate certificate programs: Agri-Business Management, Business Management, Business and Information Systems Architecture, and Retirement Residence Management.
The interior was reconfigured to establish a clear academic hub. Administration and staff offices anchor the ground floor, while 14 classrooms and computer labs occupy the upper levels. Student lounges on two floors and in the basement provide informal study and gathering space. Mechanical and technical systems were upgraded throughout, including new HVAC units, a building automation system (BAS), and updated security and IT infrastructure.
The renewed exterior establishes a strong visual identity through horizontal panel bands that wrap the building in stripes of white cladding, dark glazing, and a thin red accent referencing the college’s colours. A pronounced overhang extends toward the parking lot, creating a covered pedestrian connection to the rear entrance. Careful planning and detailing ensure the building works efficiently for both staff and students.
