The Southside Office project began as the transformation of the Empress United Church, originally built in 1954, into a modern office space and practice facility for the London Lightning basketball team. Commissioned by Philip Agar Architect, the conversion in 2012 adapted the historic church structure into a dynamic mixed-use facility, housing both office functions and a gymnasium.

In 2024, our office was re-engaged to design an addition to further expand the office space, accommodating the growing needs of the Southside team. The new addition builds upon the original conversion, blending contemporary design with the existing architectural elements to create a cohesive, functional environment for both professional and athletic use.

This project represents our commitment to adaptive reuse and thoughtful design, respecting the building’s historical roots while providing innovative solutions for contemporary needs.
